What is Core Process Psychotherapy?
Core Process Psychotherapy is a unique mindfulness-based therapy based on a fusion of Western psychotherapy practices and ancient Buddhist wisdom.
We take the Buddhist insight of impermanence at the core of our exploration; nothing is fixed including ourselves, and everything is constantly in flux.
It is a joint, embodied enquiry into the nature of our suffering and how we can explore how we are prevented from living a life of freedom and flexibility. It is a therapy of hope and open exploration.
We also explore how we are attached to an idea of how we want things to be, and how we might change our relationship with how things are and come into a greater acceptance of life in its fullness.

Compassion and loving-kindness
It is a therapy based on deep compassion, empathy and loving-kindness and a belief that at our core we are all essentially free and possess inherent health. I believe in asking, “What has happened to you?”, rather than “What is wrong with you?”. The whole of you is welcomed and accepted in our space together.

It is a therapy for anyone who feels stuck and believes they cannot change.
Healing in relationship
Core Process Psychotherapy holds that healing takes place in a relationship with another person and that awareness is inherently healing. As your therapist, I aim to help you become more aware of yourself and how you relate to others, to me, and most importantly, to yourself. Have you noticed, for example, how you speak to yourself, or how you might have fixed beliefs about others?
The therapy is a two-person enquiry, and I use myself and our relationship as the primary vehicle for healing. We might explore how we hold patterns in our bodies, and how our bodies have an innate wisdom that we can learn to befriend.

I offer a free 1-hour session where you will get a good sense of whether you would like me to be your guide. Don’t worry if you are nervous or even terrified; this is completely natural. You don’t need to worry about what you will say or do, just come along and let the session unfold
